UUMA Collegial Development Team Covenant
Bound by our larger UUMA Covenant and in service of expanding and deepening collegiality, we, the members of the UUMA Collegial Development Team, do faithfully covenant to labor together joyfully in a spirit of gratitude, inclusivity, and commitment. We will take responsibility for our obligations, value clear and continuous communication, and model good collegiality, all while offering each other grace. When we fall short of our covenant we also promise to reach out actively and call each other in (not out) to accountability, and when we cause an “ouch,” we will acknowledge our own mistake and seek reconciliation with those affected, making space for self-reflection, as needed, along the way.
We also pledge to affirm and celebrate our covenant and each other.
UUMA Vision Statement: Collegiality
The UUMA promotes multiple models of collegiality, gathering in covenant to meet both the shared and unique needs of our diverse ministries (including retired, community, candidate, consulting, interim and parish). Shaped by a culture of vulnerability, intimacy, trust and accountability to one another, we embrace leadership and mutual learning and model excellence in ministry through collegiality.
Collegial Development Team Charge:
The Collegial Development Team is envisioned to operate as a programmatic team of the UUMA. The UUMA Executive Director will convene and lead the team. The team is charged with advising, collaborating and assisting in the development of strategies, programs and best practices for strengthening collegial development throughout the UUMA. The team will work with other UUMA leaders as needed including local chapter, cluster and regional leaders.
