We are excited to have new Executive Director of the United States Human Rights Network, Colette Pichon Battle, as our keynote speaker at Ministry Days this year.  Colette grew up in Louisiana where she returned after Hurricane Katrina to help frontline communities with disaster relief efforts.  She has spent the last ten years in the Gulf region and was a lead coordinator for Gulf South Rising 2015, a regional initiative around climate justice and just transition in the South. Colette has a wealth of experience in human rights law, immigration law, disaster law, grassroots organizing, coalition building and fundraising. She has worked with local communities, national funders, and elected officials to promote equity in the post-Katrina/post-BP disaster Gulf Coast. She has developed creative programs on global migration, community economic development, climate justice and equitable disaster recovery. She has provided legal services to impacted communities, and overseen trainings for local community leaders on justice issues that intersect with race, systems of power, and ecology.

Collegial Conversations: We are planning on offering a limited number of collegial conversations and workshops at next year's Ministry Days. If you'd like to offer a workshop or collegial conversation (one has a program and the other is a conversation) please send a proposed title, a one-paragraph description and who would be leading/facilitating to Don by February 15. Each workshop/conversation will be 90 minutes long and will be held from 2-3:30 on Tuesday afternoon June 20, 2017.
Location: Ministry Days will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside; Two Poydras Street. Look for more details later this month. Registration will open on March 1, 2017.
