The UU Ministers Association joins our members and those in their communities, to stand on the side of love and to say that black lives do matter.  We, the President and Executive Director of the UUMA, are holding you in our hearts this weekend, as our colleagues join other people of conscience to mark the one-year anniversary of the killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Thank you to Julie and all our colleagues who are with you this weekend. Please know that the more than 1800 members of the UUMA from around the world who aren’t with you in body this weekend are with you in spirit - today and tomorrow.

The UUMA seeks to nurture excellence in ministry.  We believe that our calling leads us to stand with those whose lives are at risk, those who have been the victims of tragedy, and those whose rights are denied.  Racism and hatred are evils that hurt the wounded and slain; but these evils hurt all of us, joined together in a network of mutuality.  We cannot rest until justice rolls down like the waters.
