Schedule: We have created a schedule that is spread out over a number of days to attempt to reduce overwhelm and screen time burn out. We also suggest that you choose the programming that best aligns with your life these days: Limited time? Ministry Days Essential is for you! Have a little more space but not a ton of time? try out Ministry Days Core! Looking for pathways to deeper connection and more time with colleagues? How about Ministry Days Extra?! We have also provided a Ministry Days calendar for each time zone. All of this information can be found here.
Registration: Registration and the event itself is happening through our online Learning portal. If you are wanting to just attend the Annual Meeting you can do so here. Registration for all of Ministry Days can be found here. If you are registering for Ministry Days you do not need to also register for the Annual Meeting.
Annual Meeting Packet: The Annual Meeting Packet is available here. You can also find lots of resources for more deeply interacting with the packet here (scroll to the Virtual Ministry Days section). For helpful information from Parliamentarian Kelly Asprooth-Jackson on voting please click here. You can click the links below to attend the meeting. It is going to ask you register for the meeting but it is really just entering your name and email.
Guidelines FAQ: Everything you ever needed regarding the guidelines revisions is gathered in this one place: FAQs, Janette's explanations of how things will work, and a file library of all communications regarding this process. You can learn more here.
I am also awaiting the posting of Annual Meeting Part 3 and the Milestones Worship Service, neither of which I was able to attend - and heard/saw comments about elsewhere. Will an e-mail go out (with links) notifying us that they have been posted?
I'm looking forward to an email with links to the recordings of the many events I saw none or part of because of the constant lack of convenient linking information, or in some cases, working links.
The failure to update the misleadingly named Quick Meeting Links on the Home Page throughout the meeting with live links to events as they were happening was particularly dismaying. It shouldn't be that hard to have working links as the first thing you see on a Ministry Days Home Page during Ministry Days. The UUA GA Portal is working much better. Maybe you should outsource Tech to them, or use their platform....I like the t-shirt though and I do appreciate that everyone was trying their best.
I've been trying unsucessfully to launch the 25/50 worship. I either get the uuma refuses to connect or this:
The system has encountered an unexpected error. Error reference code: asuBaVuba3uh-mms1
Can you please help.
we are so sorry for all of the difficulty that people have had in connecting to the Ministry Days events yesterday. First, I'd like to let you know that the best way to let us know what is happening is by using the Tech Forum, which is being monitored during all of the events. You can find that here: https://www.uuma.org/forums/Topics.aspx?forum=247857
Second, those error messages were from the Learning platform system, and unfortunately, out of our control - We are working with the support team for the Learning platform about the error messages.
Janette sent out a link to a video that explains how to access the Learning Online platform - it is very quick and informative. https://www.uuma.org/page/md2020_tour
Hopefully, the email that went out last night will help with access for today. Everything is being recorded and will be available to view shortly. We apologize for the frustration and thank you for your patience.
I am sad and feeling totally unconnected with this years ministry days. I've looked through my communications and I am missing mention of many of the events that make ministery days so special and nourishing to my soul.
I can't seem to find info on opening worship (except it sounds like it already happened), Berry Street Essay (sound like it already happened), the 25/50 Worship - I see no mention of it anywhere.
I will attend the business meetings next week on our normally scheduled days.
I know that you are all doing your best to help keep moving us forward. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in trying to prevent zoom fatigue. However I feel however that the really radical changes to the schedule have made it impossible to honor my congregational duties and still attend all the UUMA Ministry Day events. The days leading up to Min. Days are always very busy. Sad and frustrated for missing so much of MD this year. :-(
