Our Ministry Days Hospitality Coordinator, Amanda Schuber, has these tips for first-timers at Ministry Days:
Greetings, Friends and Colleagues,
We are just hours away from the start of the 2019 Ministry Days! We are so happy you will be joining us. Below are some tips to help you make the most of our time together.
Be comfortable: Comfort is the name of the game; so pack those comfortable shoes and your favorite backpack! While at Ministry Days, you will be among colleagues where you should feel comfortable in business casual. If you are staying for General Assembly, some ministers dress up a little more into full-on business. Also, don’t forget that conference centers can have a wide range of temperatures, so be sure to carry something to pull on if you get a little chilly.
Hydrate: Travel is hard on the body, so hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Please bring a reusable water bottle and coffee cup to help us reduce our footprint in Spokane.
Recharge: Visit the Ministry Days Café to charge your phone, and your spirit. Take time to visit with old and new friends/colleagues; spend some quiet time in our affinity rooms set aside for certain identity groups; or take a walk around the beautiful green spaces that Spokane is known for.
Networking: There will be numerous networking opportunities so have those phones, business cards, and notebooks handy to jot down all the great tips, tricks and contact that you’ll pick up along the way. Be sure to mark your schedule for the evening activities!
Look for the Helpers: Mr. Rogers knew what he was talking about, so when in doubt, look for the helpers wearing the purple bandanas or find me, Amanda, in my snazzy purple hat! We are there to make your Ministry Days fun, informative, and restorative!
