We're delighted to begin the second year of the Ministerial Formation Network! The Ministerial Formation Network (MFN) is a joint UUMA/UUA program designed to support every aspirant and candidate for our ministry no matter where they live. The MFN offers discernment support, collegiality and supplemental education free of charge. Through non-evaluative individual or group advising with experienced ministers, quarterly webinars on a range of topics and an annual retreat with other participants and leaders in the program, the MFN offers a web of support for those who are preparing to devote their life to ministry.
For Fellowshipped Ministers:
The Ministerial Formation Network relies on ministers who are willing to help support the next generation of Unitarian Universalist ministers. The MFN Chapter Liaisons will match each participant with a Vocational Advisor or Discernment Group leader. If you would be willing to have your name on the list of potential volunteers for Chapter Liaisons to consider when matching, please complete these short interest forms for Vocational Advising and Group Leader.
For Aspirants and Candidates:
If you are an aspirant or candidate, are a member of the UUMA, and would like to be a part of this support program, click here to enroll in the MFN. All participants need to re-enroll each year. Please fill out the enrollment form to sign up for the 2018-2019 MFN year. If you filled out an MFN evaluation and let us know you plan to continue in the MFN, we have made a note of that and you do not need to re-enroll.
All MFN participants are invited to attend a retreat with other aspirants and candidates, facilitated by ministers volunteering in the program. All travel and lodging expenses will be covered -- there is no cost for participants. We're excited to announce the dates for this year's retreats, which you can register for here. We encourage participants to register for the retreat which includes their UUMA chapter as listed below. We believe meeting in person with other participants and leaders this fall will help maximize your experience of the program over the rest of the year. If the dates of your chapter retreat don't work for your schedule, you have two choices. 1. You can choose to attend the retreat prior to Ministry Days as your MFN retreat for the year. 2. You can choose to attend a retreat in another region. Whichever you prefer, we want to be clear that the UUMA will pay the full cost of your participation in one MFN retreat per year and we encourage you to avail yourself of this opportunity for support and connection
