Friends and colleagues,
Please join me in the spirit of prayer and meditation.
Spirit of life. Great spirit. Mystery. Breath of love. God of many names. We gather again in this virtual community for resistance and rest; resilience and renewal; to comfort and to be comforted,to remember... and sometimes to forget.
We know that we multiply our joys by celebrating the happy days of life, together; and that we divide our sorrows, by sharing life's burdens, together. And yet the disappointment, the pain, the loneliness that sometime fill our spirits seem more than we can take.
Every day in our world, in our collegial community and in our faith we are reminded of the work we need to do, and the love we need to embrace. Sometimes our hearts break and sometimes they are mended because of the fact we share this planet with the perfect andimperfect animals we call human beings. May we find the hope, the prayer that only a broken heart breathes lifeinto. May we find the gratitude and blessing in our pain and the reminders and lessons that beauty and love offer. Let us remember that we often know not what we do or saythat hurts or heals. And let us do our best to err on the side of healing.
For the pains and sorrows that darken our spirits, for the joys and hopes that brighten our days, for the people whose love and care help to guide our way, for the glory and wonder of life, we say blessed be. Shalom and Amen.
