How do we empower our congregations to be involved in the BLM movement and not just sympathetic observers? How do we talk with our congregants about the impact of privilege within our churches and beyond our walls into our larger community? Why should we? Please join us for Professional Day.

Rev. Dr. Hope Johnson serves as Congregational Life Consultant for CER (Central East Region), while also continuing to stay rooted in congregational service as the Parish Minister of the UU Congregation of Central Nassau, NY. She brings specialties in conflict resolution and multicultural congregational development. Rev. Hope was part of the UUA GA 2015 talk: Lessons from Selma.

Kenny Wiley is a UU World senior editor and director of faith formation at Prairie Unitarian Universalist Church in Parker, Colorado. His writing has also appeared in the Boston Globe, the Houston Chronicle, and Skyd Magazine. He is deeply engaged in Black Lives Matter work in Denver .
