About the Oct. 25 program (from your Program Co-Chairs, Archene Turner and Louise Green).

"Deep Listening and Speaking Up Skill Building"

Since many white colleagues have expressed an interest to listen more deeply when colleagues of color say something, and then to improve skills to effectively respond,  we have invited four ministers of color with various lengths in ministry to be on a panel where they will  share when and how they have engaged their white colleagues to either stop doing something or start doing something and to share about time that a tactic worked and another time that if they were to do it again they would approach it differently. Following this panel, we will have a panel of white colleagues sharing how they have responded when asked by a colleague of color to either do or stop doing something, and to share where it went well and a time they would in retrospect do in differently. After both panels, we will reflect together about what was said and consider successful techniques. Following this there will then be an opportunity to divide into smaller caucusing groups to have a deeper conversations.
