Dearest Colleagues,

As this year's ARE Conference Coordinator, I am excited to be making this invitation to ARE's (Fall) Conference in Atlanta!

As many of you know, ARE has long had a reciprocal arrangement with LREDA, UUMA and UUMN to host a representative from each organization at our annual conference to foster connection and collaboration with respect to ARAOMC work.  In the past, representatives were often invited to participate in various elements the conference, and we are especially looking forward to that this year, as we move into shared ministry models, connect more deeply, and build a powerful faith movement that has justice, equity, inclusion, and the disruption of white supremacy at its core.

The 2017 ARE Conference was already off to a great start when we opened registration, with plans for intensive and challenging content to meet a broader range of committed anti-racist UUs than ever before.  Partnering with area UUs and local community groups to create stronger alliances for these turbulent times was already the foundation of our "Stone Soup".

Then Charlottesville happened.  And Boston. And Phoenix. And Berkeley.  The "game" is changing almost daily now...

New strategies and tactics are needed, not only to do the critical, internal work that is the foundation of dismantling oppression, but to organize effective counter-action in the face of today's horror, and to build sustainable, resilient, enduring communities of love and resistance that eventually drive violent and hateful adversaries into irrelevancy.

Our response has been to "double-down & widen the circle" even further, to begin conversations with other communities and organizations who can better help equip us for this new reality.

Yes, this will still be a conference focused on building an anti-racism movement among white Unitarian Universalists, with tools, tips, tricks and tactics for this struggle...
... but this year, it won't be limited to that.  This year, we're breaking out of the box!
We hope you'll join us!

Participants may register here and can find "everything else" on the logistics and accommodations page.   Designated organizational representatives may contact me directly at   or at  480-370-4526 to talk a little about their engagement at the conference, and to receive the collaborator's (free) registration link.

All. Together. Now.

In Solidarity,

Carolina Krawarik-Graham
