Netflix is offering Unitarian Universalist clergy the opportunity to view the film “Come Sunday” before it releases, giving UU clergy the chance to comment, write a review or blog, host talks and events, and/or screenings after the release date. “Come Sunday,” the film about Rev. Carlton Pearson, will release on Netflix on April 13. “Come Sunday” is based on true events about the globally-renowned pastor Carlton Pearson, a prodigy of Oral Roberts, who risked and lost everything when he questioned church doctrine. Rev. Carlton Pearson joined All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2008 after he was branded a modern-day heretic with his understanding of an inclusive God and his founding of the “Gospel of Inclusion.”
