Over the next two years, the UUMA Guidelines Committee will be exploring the intersection between social media, online ministry and our guidelines. Colleagues, you don't specify how you're letting us know about this, but I didn't hear about it at FUUMA nor did I see anything until Facebook today, a day late for any conversation. As both a journalist and minister, there have been times when my media employer required me to have a public Facebook site, e-mail, etc., so I hope you allow for various incarnations of ministry and not just what parish clergy or those solely serving the parish should do or not do. The thought of these guidelines feel way too close to censorship to me, so I hope you are very careful not to censor anything clergy post about themselves or those not in their clergy care. Thanks.
