“The Movement for Black Lives:  A UU Discomfort Roadmap”
Thursday, 1 pm to Friday4 pm  (May 5-6)
Hyatt Hotel in Morristown
Sponsored by Metro NY Chapters of UUMA & LREDA

“Everything will be okay” is a common movie cliche and an understandable thing to say when trying to console someone. When it comes to racial justice work, the rush to make things “okay” often erases needed conflict and silences marginalized voices.

Join Kenny Wiley, a Denver-based Black Lives Matter organizer and UU World senior editor, and the Rev. Julie Taylor, St. Louis community minister and protester, who will guide us as we explore the importance of navigating discomfort and as we deepen our engagement with—and commitment to—real social justice work.

In response to calls from colleagues and particularly from former Chapter Exec members, we are offering deeper programming for our spring gathering.  Because of this, we are asking a payment of $30 for this meeting in addition to your dues which, as indicated last fall, give you free lunches at the fall and spring meetings.  The registration page will allow you to pay your 2015-16 chapter dues if you have not done so.  Check with Ned Wight ( if you are not sure if your dues are paid.
