UUMA CENTER Committee

Mission:

The CENTER committee designs and delivers excellent continuing education that inspires, nurtures and transforms members of the UUMA.

The C.E.N.T.E.R. Committee (Continuing Education, Network, Training, Enrichment and Renewal) is a committee of the UUMA dedicated to helping professional ministers understand and prepare to meet the increasingly expanding and complex demands of religious leadership. We serve as a resource for the UUMA in its mission to organize, plan and support collegial networks of education and training such as

- The Institute for Excellence in Ministry

A five day educational intensive featuring the cutting edge of education, worship, spiritual practices and collegial support and networking. This program is offered biannually

- Chapter Presenters Program

A program which helps subsidize Chapters efforts to contract with one of our C.E.N.T.E.R. presenters to present a 6-12 hour educational program at a UUMA chapter meeting or retreat. All of our C.E.N.T.E.R. presenters have expertise in one of 8 critical areas of professional development

- Beyond the Call

o Jointly developed by the UUA and UUMA, this program is designed to provide UUMA members in final fellowship a chance for in-depth study, ongoing collegial reflection and engagement in one a critical area of advanced ministerial competence

- The UUMA Coaching program

o Members with expertise in specific areas of ministry are trained in the art of coaching a specific facet of ministry. Members who wish to improve in such areas can work with a coach to set goals and determine the best ways to achieve them

- Who Are Our Neighbors?

A program which trains leaders in the art of multicultural competence and in their ability to pass on these insights and skills on a regional and local level.

- Whose Are We?

A program to deepen the theological conversation between colleagues on a regional and denominational level which helps us explore more deeply the questions of ethical, moral, social and physical interdependencies that are part of our personal and communal covenants with one another.
